THE PELION TRAIN

I studied and designed the exhibition with my husband to celebrate the arrival of the local train after a standstill of over 25 years and to make known the struggle of the Friends of the Pelion train bring it back to life.

The exhibition focuses on the construction of the railway line with its bridges, tunnels and retaining walls, masterpiece of Evaristo de Chirico. It shows the operation of the engine, while a detailed map helps visitors follow its route. The exhibition also refers to the changes the train brought to the life of the Miliotes as it provided easy access to the city of Volos for them and their products.

One can also see copies of artwork by Giorgio de Chirico showing the Pelion train and drawings created by children during art workshops.

The exhibition open to the public at the Milies railway station can be visited when the train is in the village.
